Malayalee Association of Tallahassee (MAT) is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious cultural organization working towards the betterment of the social lifestyle of the Malayalee community in the Tallahassee Florida Area. MAT provides a forum for its members to meet, foster friendship, goodwill and understanding, and provides opportunities for cultural and entertainment activities
MAT intends to educate the next generation with the rich cultural heritage of Kerala. It also seeks to foster good relations within our diverse American community through mutual friendship and cultural exchange. MAT is dedicated to the enrichment of its diverse members through regular programs that commemorates various rituals and traditions which we practice back home in Kerala.
Currently the association has around 150 members and its growing. The major events during a year include the Onam, Easter/Vishu and Christmas celebrations, and the Annual Picnic. Additionally we also conduct Valentine, Halloween and bimonthly movie shows.
The community is close knit and the program activities are taken care by the Elected President and his Executive Committee. The committee meets frequently to manage the affairs and further the purposes of MAT and its operations.
